Scouts

National and Council fees for Scouts are $85 and $60, respectively, paid annually with membership renewal online through Scouting America.  An annual subscription to Scout Life magazine is optional and costs an additional $15.00 per Scout.

Troop fees for Scouts are outlined below, paid annually late-Fall through Troop 247:

• Returning Scout annual dues: $55 (covers Troop advancement and operating expenses)

• Crossover Scout one-time dues: $48 (covers Scout handbook, shoulder loops, and Troop numerals, rope, and activity uniform)

• New Scout one-time dues: $73 (covers Scout handbook, shoulder loops, and Troop numerals, rope, and activity uniform, and advancement expenses)

Adult Leaders

The National fee for registered Adult leaders is $65, paid annually with membership renewal online through Scouting America.

Troop Dues Payment

Troop 247 dues payment can be made to the Troop Treasurer through the following methods, listed in order of preference:

1. Online payment at https://troop-247.square.site/.  Please note there will be an additional 3.3% and $0.30 processing fee for payments made online.

2. Check made payable to "Troop 247".

Troop Dues Financial Assistance

It is important that no Scout ever be denied participation in the Scouting program due to their family’s financial situation.

• The Troop 247 Adult Committee voted unanimously to establish a Troop Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance for Troop Dues to Scouts in need.  A generous anonymous donation was provided to start the scholarship fund.

• The Simon Kenton Council has an established scholarship fund to provide financial assistance for registration fees and uniforms to Scouts in need.  This fund is supported through generous donations to the Friends of Scouting fundraising campaign.

Please reach out to the Troop Committee Chair or Scoutmaster to discuss privately any financial hardships that may prevent you from Scouting.
